Evelyn Chioma Joseph is a resilient Nigerian woman, a beacon of hope, and a fierce advocate for change. Born and raised in Nigeria, Evelyn’s journey took a sharp turn when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2020. Despite the challenges she faced, Evelyn emerged as a courageous survivor, determined to make a difference in the lives of others.

As a Project Manager at the NGO (non-governmental organization) Society for the Improvement of Rural People in Nigeria, Evelyn has dedicated her career to empowering vulnerable women and girls. Her passion for social justice and gender equality is evident in her work, where she has spearheaded numerous projects focusing on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), engaging with men and boys to combat gender inequality like Female Genital Mutilation, and ending period poverty for indigent school girls.

Evelyn’s resilience and advocacy extend beyond her professional endeavors. As a Coach with Cancer Champions, she has become a symbol of strength and inspiration for those facing similar battles. In addition to being a loving wife and mother of two beautiful children, Evelyn continues to prioritize her advocacy efforts, using her voice and experiences to create meaningful change in her community and beyond.
