About Lisa D. Smith

Lisa D. Smith, MBA, BS, GREEN
Cancer Coach & Mentor

Lisa D. Smith is a dedicated cancer survivor, advocate, business leader, and mentor committed to helping individuals and families navigate the challenges of a cancer diagnosis with hope, knowledge, and resilience.

A Bay Area native, Lisa is the Owner, Broker, Realtor®, and Realtist® of Fine Homes R.E. Inc., one of the oldest Black-owned real estate brokerages in Solano County. Alongside her husband and business partner, she has successfully owned and operated the company for more than 22 years, bringing over two decades of industry expertise, leadership, and community service to the profession.

In August 2024, Lisa’s life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, an aggressive form of breast cancer. Her treatment journey included surgery, 16 rounds of chemotherapy, and 15 rounds of radiation. Today, Lisa is proud to share that she has completed treatment and that her most recent checkup showed no evidence of cancer.

What began as participation in her first breast cancer fundraiser—the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk in San Francisco—quickly evolved into a passion for advocacy and service. Lisa now serves as a Breast Cancer Advocate, Cancer Coach and Mentor, and Community Board Member for Susan G. Komen Northern California. She is dedicated to ensuring that patients have access to education, resources, support, and equitable healthcare throughout their cancer journey.

Lisa’s advocacy is deeply personal. She advocates not only as a survivor herself, but in honor of her mother, mother-in-law, family members, and friends who have battled this disease, as well as those who continue to fight every day. Her firsthand experience allows her to connect authentically with patients and caregivers, offering compassion, encouragement, and practical guidance during some of life’s most difficult moments.

As a Cancer Champions Coach and Mentor, Lisa is committed to helping others feel seen, heard, and supported. She believes that no one should face cancer alone and that shared experiences can provide strength, comfort, and inspiration throughout treatment and survivorship.

When she is not mentoring, advocating, or running her business, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, walking, hiking, visiting the beach, fishing, snorkeling, traveling, listening to jazz, and relaxing with her dogs.

“A cancer diagnosis may change your path, but it does not diminish your purpose. There is strength in every step forward, and hope in every new day.” — Lisa D. Smith
