About Mark Bertolero

Mark Bertolero is a cancer survivor, husband, father, and advocate for healthy living who was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) in March 2025. Following his diagnosis, he joined Cancer Champions seeking support and guidance and quickly embraced the organization’s nutrition, fitness, and wellness programs. Through a commitment to healthy lifestyle changes, purposeful training, and a strong support network, Mark experienced a remarkable recovery journey.

Just 15 months after his diagnosis and the start of treatment, Mark completed a 100-mile bicycle ride around Lake Tahoe, a milestone that reflects his belief in the power of physical fitness, positive mindset, and perseverance. His experience reinforced his conviction that cancer recovery is most successful when approached holistically—with attention to physical health, nutrition, emotional well-being, and community support.

Mark attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly), where he played rugby and developed the teamwork and resilience that continue to guide him today. Professionally, he works in heavy civil construction, supporting major infrastructure projects throughout the West Coast.

As a Cancer Champions Coach, Mark is passionate about helping others navigate their own cancer journeys. He believes that no one should face cancer alone and is committed to encouraging, supporting, and empowering fellow survivors and their families every step of the way.
